Caledonian Discovery offers a unique activity holiday on a large and very comfortable barge cruising Scottish Highland waterways. The barge, 'Fingal of Caledonia' moves each day to a new location and guests can just relax aboard and enjoy the spectacular scenery or take part in a wide variety of activities.

Activities offered

Our own activities, which are included in the price, include walking, sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, mountain biking and orienteering. Also available are golf, pony trekking, white water rafting and water ski-ing. We also run special interest weeks on photography, music, painting and wildlife.

Location

'Fingal of Caledonia' cruises on the Caledonian Canal in the Great Glen. This spectacular waterway links Loch Ness, Loch Oich, and Loch Lochy across the Highlands of Scotland. Sheltered waters make for peaceful cruising and enjoyable watersports, whilst walks and cycles ashore can be low or high level and go through beautiful scenery.

Accommodation

The barge 'Fingal of Caledonia' is extremely comfortable and spacious and has been converted to accommodate 12 guests in centrally heated, bright double cabins. The food is great; the crew friendly and home comforts are excellent.
